Payment Agreement
Understanding payment terms and processes on Eventso
This Payment Agreement governs how payments are made, held, and released on Eventso (the “Platform”).
1. Definitions
Vendor
Any registered user of the Platform who lists and sells products or services.
Buyer
Any registered user of the Platform who purchases products or services.
Order
A contract entered into between a Buyer and a Vendor through the Platform.
Stripe
Eventso’s payment processor, which securely holds and transfers funds.
2. How Payments Are Made
- Buyers pay for Orders only through the Platform’s Stripe-powered checkout.
- Payment may be made from the Buyer’s own bank account or by a third party on the Buyer’s behalf. The Buyer is responsible for retaining proof of payment.
- Eventso never accepts or requests direct bank transfers or other forms of payment outside the Platform.
3. Holding of Funds
- All payments are held in a secure Stripe-connected account until conditions for release are met.
- Eventso acts solely as a payment intermediary and is not a party to the sales contract between Buyer and Vendor.
4. Currencies & Exchange Rates
All payments on Eventso are processed and held in EUR. Payouts to Vendors are also made in EUR by default. If a Vendor’s bank account is denominated in another currency, Stripe will convert the payout at its applicable rate and deduct any conversion fees automatically. Eventso does not bear any costs or risks of currency conversion.
5. Platform Fees
- A technical service fee (the “Platform Fee”) for secure payments is automatically deducted from each transaction by Stripe and is borne by the Vendor.
- Bank or Stripe transfer fees are borne by the payee (the party receiving the funds).
6. Time Limits (“Timeouts”)
- Buyers: The shopping cart times out after 5 minutes. Items can be saved for later purchase.
- Vendors: Vendors must confirm acceptance of an Order within 24 hours. If no response is received, the Buyer may cancel and receive a full refund. Vendors who fail to respond may lose the Order and associated payout.
7. Payment Release
- After both parties click “Completed” or after Eventso confirms service delivery, the remaining balance (minus fees) will be released to the Vendor within 3–5 business days.
- If a Buyer disputes delivery, funds will be held pending investigation.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
Most services offered on Eventso are related to leisure or event activities scheduled for a specific date or period (for example, catering, décor, entertainment, photography, or makeup services). Under Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the statutory 14‑day right of withdrawal does not apply to such services once a booking has been confirmed for a specific date.
Accordingly:
- Event-specific bookings (where the buyer selects a fixed date or time) are non-refundable under EU withdrawal law once confirmed, and any refunds are governed solely by Eventso’s Refund and Cancellation Policy.
- Refunds may still be granted in cases of vendor non-performance, fraud, or force majeure as defined in Eventso’s Complaints Policy.
For services that are not tied to a specific date or period (for example, general consultations, flexible‑date sessions, or digital services):
- EU consumers retain a 14‑day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, unless they request immediate performance.
- By requesting that a vendor begin providing such a service before the end of the 14‑day period, the buyer expressly consents to immediate performance and acknowledges that their withdrawal right will end once the service has begun or been fully delivered.
- Illegal Listings: Payments for illegal goods or services are void. Vendors and Buyers are both legally liable, and no refunds or payouts will be made.
9. Logistics
Vendor and Buyer arrange delivery or event logistics directly. Eventso does not ship goods.
10. Data Protection
All personal data is handled in accordance with the EU GDPR and Eventso’s Privacy Policy. Payment data is processed securely by Stripe.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with EU and applicable national consumer laws.
